With EuroPride Valletta celebrations coming to a big crescendo this weekend, the EuroPride Amsterdam dress was unveiled earlier this week at a launch event at the C&R flagship store in Naxxar.

The Amsterdam Rainbow Dress started as a powerful statement during the opening Pride Walk parade of EuroPride 2016. The flags of countries where same-sex acts were deemed illegal were carried, sparking conversations and raising awareness. Inspired by this impactful act, the Amsterdam Rainbow Dress Foundation was formed by the visionary minds of Mattijs van Bergen, Arnout van Krimpen, Jochem Kaan, and Oeri van Woezik, in collaboration with dedicated volunteers from COC Amsterdam.

The event was co-hosted by the Parliamentary Secretary for Reforms and Equality and the Embassy of the Kingdom of the netherlands to Malta as part of the EuroPride programme. The dress is a magnificent ode to all the colours of the rainbow, with a spectacular full skirt and train replicating the Pride rainbow and complemented by a simple bustier.

You can view the dress remains at Spazju Kreattiv up till September 17.
