A children for children concert is being held on Sunday as part of the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra’s innovative children’s project Do Re Mi.
The project, which kicked off in November, has introduced young audiences to the enchanting world of classical music, by focusing on seven distinct orchestral instruments. Led by artistic director Maria Blanco, the series featured interactive orchestral and chamber music concerts and age-appropriate workshops,
Now is the time for the children to shine. The participants in Sunday’s concert were chosen through application by a selection committee and for some, it will be their first performance in front of an audience.
In total, 75 young musicians and 25 young artists are taking part.
The Do Re Mi Showcase Concert is being held at Robert Samut Hall in Floriana at 10.30am. The event is targeted at children aged 5 to 12. Tickets are available here.
