If you’re one of the many people who loves to have something to listen to once in bed, then you’re in for a treat as we’ve discovered not one, but two, podcasts that have been specifically made for this purpose.
But, there is a twist, as these aren’t your average going-to-sleep podcasts that focus on breathing exercises or meditation—though those can obviously be great, too!
- Just Sleep – Bedtime Stories for Adults does exactly what it says on the tin. The narrator reads old stories that are in the public domain in a peaceful and hushed tone, helping you drift to sleep. Each episode comprises either a short story in its entirety or a chapter from a book, with stories covered so far including The Curious Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, Treasure Island, Wuthering Heights, and plenty of Sherlock Holmes adventures.
- Crime at Bedtime, meanwhile, is for those who are looking for something a little more hardcore. Following a minute of breathing exercises, the narrator gets down to a murder case in a quiet way, detailing the events behind some of America’s most famous solved and unsolved cases. The best part is that there are already dozens of episodes you can sink your teeth into.
If you know any other ‘quirky’ podcasts whose aim is to help us sleep, then please share them in the comments section!
