Celebrating 160 years of imagination on World Book Day

Malta Libraries is holding a day of activities for all the family on the occasion of World Book Day on Wednesday, April 23.

The event, being held at the National Public Library in Floriana from 10am to 1pm, is also celebrating the magical world of Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland, which was published in 1865, that is 160 years ago.

Activities will, therefore, centre around this theme. There will be:

  • An animated reading session of Alice in Wonderland for all ages;
  • The launch of the Kanopy app launch, which includes free streaming movies, documentaries and children’s content;
  • A beading demonstration and workshop, teaching the basics of beading in a fun, interactive session;
  • An Alice in Wonderland-themed face painting for the kids or the kids at heart; and
  • Alice in Wonderland-themed crafts.

The event is free and no booking is required.
