The final days remain to visit Echoes of Now, an extraordinary exhibition by multidisciplinary artist, interior designer and film director Chris Ebejer, on display at the Oratory of the Immaculate within the Jesuit church in Valletta.
Ebejer designed the exhibition’s set and lighting to complement and harmonise with the 17th-century baroque oratory. He meticulously studied the interplay of light and shadow, colour palettes and forms, ensuring that each of the 30 artworks engages in a meaningful dialogue with the historic setting.
Featuring works in terracotta, porcelain, bronze and Carrara marble, the exhibition showcases the breadth of Ebejer’s artistic practice. Particularly striking are the bronze and Carrara marble sculptures crafted in Tuscany.

Set against the splendour of the 17th-century baroque oratory, these works create a captivating dialogue between contemporary artistry and historic architecture, offering visitors a rare and immersive cultural experience.
Ebejer’s innovative approach extends beyond the artworks themselves. In what is believed to be a first for Malta, the artist has created a complete exhibition set design, carefully integrating lighting, spatial composition and the historic surroundings into a unified artistic vision.

Visitors are invited to experience a contemplative journey in which contemporary artistic expression encounters centuries of history. Through its thoughtful curation and atmospheric presentation, Echoes of Now transforms the Oratory of the Immaculate into a space of reflection, beauty and discovery.
Echoes of Now is open until tomorrow, June 7, offering one last opportunity to experience this remarkable fusion of art, architecture and design in one of Valletta’s most atmospheric historic spaces.
