Kids Dig Science

The next Kids Dig Science event is following Nemo − the friendly clownfish from the film Finding Nemo − around his watery world to learn about the biodiversity in the vastness of the oceans.

This underwater exploration, taking place at Spazju Kreattiv, in Valletta, on Saturday at 3pm, will spotlight the delicate balance that is marine biology and what needs to be done to ensure its survival.

This project is hosted by the Malta Chamber of Scientists and is supported by the Arts Council Malta’s Programme Support Fund.

This event is being held in collaboration with the Malta National Aquarium. For more information, visit the event’s Facebook page.

Walking Art Workshops

Parents and guardians from Birkirkara, Balzan, Attard, Lija and Iklin areas are invited to participate with their children (aged 8 to 10) in a series of walks and creative post-walks sessions as part of a social practice art research project by Raffaella Zammit.

Zammit is a masters student at the University of Malta, who is currently reading for a Master of Arts in Social Practice Arts and Critical Education, supervised by Raphael Vella. For her dissertation she is conducting a study titled ‘Walking uncharted territory – A collective exploration of public space in Birkirkara’.

The aim of this research is to explore mobility and public space through the eyes of parents/guardians and children using artistic methods. Together with Raffaella, participants will go on four short walks and then get creative in workshops afterwards. No artistic experience is required to participate.

Those interested will be meeting at The Mill, Art, Culture and Crafts Centre, Birkirkara between May and September 2023. An additional two sessions will be held to develop an artwork together based on the experiences shared.

Participation is free of charge. To register your interest in participation, fill in this form https://forms.gle/pPf2Uiyv554NgZfM9.
