Vista Coop has been celebrating World Children’s Day on a yearly basis in all their childcare centres and kindergarten.

Activity plans and photos are then forwarded to the Office of the Commissioner for Children.

Following last World Children’s Day on November 20, 2022, the Office of the Commissioner for Children contacted Vista Coop, requesting a visit to Kidstart Kindergarten.

The Commissioner for Children, Antoinette Vassallo, and manager Suzanne Garcia Imbernon, eventually visited Kidstart Childcare and Development Centre in Santa Venera on March 10.

Vassallo was first shown around the centre, where she met all the children of different age groups and their early childhood educators.

She then met the kindergarten children, who enthusiastically greeted Vassallo during circle time. They were happily describing their family and what makes them happy. They even showed off their singing and dancing skills.

Vassallo and Garcia Imbernon interacted with the children and dedicated plenty of time to discussing childhood issues with the students and their educators.

The Commissioner was particularly happy to listen to and discuss children’s views about what makes them happy.
