It’s getting warmer and we all want to enjoy some sunshine after that horrid winter we’ve just had. Make the most of it by grabbing a bicycle and enjoying some pedalling. Need inspiration? We’ve got you covered. Here are some safe and easy trails that the whole family can enjoy.

1 – Għadira Bay and Armier Bay

Għadira Bay and Armier Bay are popular places for hiking, camping, and mountain biking, making them perfect for cyclists who want to meet like-minded people. This out-and-back trail is 10km long and takes around 2.5 hours to complete.

2 – Rinella and Kalkara Circular

One of our easiest trails, the Rinella and Kalkara Circular is 3.4km long and takes about 45 minutes to complete. You can stretch that out by stopping to take pictures of the many hiking, fishing, and birding points along the way.

3 – Neolithic Temples and Mdina

Start at Malta International Airport (you can also rent a bike here) and enjoy a scenic low-traffic route through Ħagar Qim and Mnajdra. Visit the temples or continue to Mdina and the urban parts of Tar-Rabbat. The total trail is 30.4km and takes roughly 2 hours to complete.

4 – Dawra and Għarghur Circular

Cycle through the country roads of Għarghur and Pembroke, stopping to enjoy the birds and scenic views. You won’t run into many explorers on the way, which makes this 8.5km perfect for time alone and meditation. You’ll need just over 2 hours to complete the loop.

5 – Nadur and Riħan Valley Circular

If you prefer Gozo, the Nadur and Riħan Valley Circular is a great choice. This takes you from Għajnsielem. If you fancy a break, you can even stop to dip your toe in the sea or take a few pictures of the view.  You’ll need about 1.5 hours to complete this 6km trail.
